ChronoSnap
Multiple pics with one click
ChronoSnap is an iOS app for taking a series of photos every few seconds, allowing you to mug for the camera with your friends and get the best shot.
I created this app for my daughter, who suggested the idea because she didn't want to pay a monthly fee for other, similar apps available on the App Store.
I thought creating the app sounded like an interesting challenge to develop using AI with Claude Code, which I had just started using for experiments.
It took four hours to write the app, and another two hours to fix one bug related to live photos. The AI was mystified by the bug, and most of that time was me searching the Internet until I eventually found a StackOverflow comment that helped, while the AI tried increasingly obscure solutions that didn't work.
The app was rejected initially because Apple thought it looked too much like their own camera app. I copy-pasted the rejection into Claude, and it updated the app, choosing the purple color that is now the hallmark of AI slop of that era. But in any event, it then passed.
So here you go, it's free -- take some pictures.
