About me
I'm Patrick Wyatt, a lifelong game developer, designer, and player. I live near Seattle Washington, USA, and this is my blog.
My game programming includes networking & multiplayer, graphics, user interface, AI, path-finding, sound & music, asset pipelines, build servers, installers, game services, authentication, presence, matchmaking, tournaments, chat, databases, caching, logging, metrics, monitoring, alerting, analytics, ecommerce, billing, anti-fraud, cryptography, deployment automation, game streaming, crash reporting, support tools, and more.
I've helped design the games I've created, and I'm especially proud to have designed and developed the unit-selection interface for Warcraft, which has been copied by every Real-Time Strategy game since.
Along with the design and engineering work, I've founded three game studios, developed & published four billion-dollar game franchises, and published two other billion-dollar game franchises.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UCLA, two sons, two daughters, and two cats.
